The Ambulance is an emergency response medical van that has been specially modified to be used as a mobile aid facility as well as transporting critical patients.

The ambulance only appears in Need for Speed: Most Wanted during a cutscene following the player defeating Rog in the Warrent Road event[1]. It also appears in the Wii release of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (2010).

Trivia

Appearances

  • The ambulance featured in the Nintendo Wii release of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (2010) is based on the 1978 to 1991 Ford Econoline.

Development

Development - Some content may have altered during development.
  • The ambulance can be found in the game files of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2, Need for Speed: Underground, Need for Speed: Underground 2, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, Need for Speed: Carbon, the PlayStation 2 and Nintendo Wii releases of Need for Speed: Undercover, and in Need for Speed: World, but is not utilised as a traffic vehicle in any of those titles.
    • In Need for Speed: Most Wanted, Need for Speed: Carbon, and Need for Speed: World it has a "Rapid City" insignia, but it has a "Tri City" insignia in Need for Speed: Undercover.
    • In early builds of Need for Speed: Most Wanted, the ambulance appeared in some drag events.
    • In Need for Speed: Carbon, it would have appeared in Fortuna.[2]
  • The wheels of the ambulance in Need for Speed: Carbon are black in colour, as while they have corresponding textures, there is no material applied to the wheels.
  • Neither the siren or the ambulance's lights function.
