The BMW M1 Procar was a race car from between 1979-1980, where it competed in the BMW 1 Procar Championship, which was created because the M1 wasn't allowed to participate in any other motorsports racing tournaments. The M1 itself was a mid-engined homologation model, so the car could meet Group 4 regulations.
