Template:InfoboxCar2The BMW M3 (E36) is the second generation of the BMW M3 series.

It was the first M3 to have an inline-six engine and to be available as a saloon. Unlike the BMW M3 E30, it was not designed as a homologation car.

The European M3 E36 was available with a 3.0L inline-six (282hp) until 1995, when the engine was replaced by a more powerful 3.2 inline-six unit in 1995.
