The 1998 BMW Z3 Roadster 2.8i (E36) is a small roadster manufactured by BMW. It was designed to compete with the Mazda MX-5 and other successful roadsters and underwent a facelift in 1999.
The 2.8i was equipped with Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and was the highest priced non-M car of the Z3 range until 2000, when it was replaced by the Z3 3.0i.

The Z3 appears in Need for Speed: High Stakes as a class B vehicle with a $20,000 price tag. It can be driven from the beginning of the career mode alongside the Mercedes-Benz SLK 230 Kompressor.
The Z3 can be selected with a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission. Overall, the manual is faster although the difference is small.
Quick acceleration and strong brakes give the Z3 an advantage over the SLK 230 Kompressor in winding roads. However, it is slower on straight roads due to a lower top speed.
