The 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat (LD) is a high-performance saloon developed and manufactured by Dodge.
First announced on August 13, 2014, it was first shown at the Woodward Dream Cruise event in Detroit, Michigan on August 16, 2014, and was showcased at the 2014 South Florida International Auto Show the following November.
Revealed as a new high-performance model for the post-facelift seventh generation of the Charger, it is fitted with a 6.2 litre supercharged V8 dubbed the "Hellcat"; named after the Grumman F6F Hellcat fighter plane. It was the most powerful production engine fitted into a muscle car or produced by Chrysler until the introduction of the "Demon" engine for the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon in 2018.
It entered production in the first quarter of 2015 and went on sale in mid 2015 with the 2015 model year. Production continued until 2023 with each model year receiving interior updates inline with the GT, SE, and R/T trim lines.
Although capable of producing 707 bhp (527 kW), it will only produce 500 bhp (373 kW) when using a standard "black" key, as access to full power requires the use of a "red" key.
