The 1996 Porsche 911 GT2 (993) is the first-generation model of the Porsche 911 GT2. Production began in 1993 and ceased in 1998.
The 993 GT2 was conceived as a homologation model for the GT2 class but was produced in limited numbers. Technically, it is based on the 993 Turbo but utilises a rear-wheel drive drivetrain. The car shares the interior of the Carrera RS.

Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed[]
The 993 GT2 appears in Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed as a Race Class vehicle in the Modern Era category. It is barely faster than its turbocharged counterpart and can not be modified.
It appears as an add-on vehicle in the PC release. The PlayStation release also features a race variant that can be unlocked for Quick Races by playing the Factory Driver mode.
Need for Speed: The Run[]
The 911 GT2 appears in Need for Speed: The Run as an Exotic class car.
It made a brief appearance in a teaser trailer released on April 28, 2011,[1] before being revealed at Electronic Arts' E3 2011 Press Conference on June 6, 2011.[2]

- Most of the Porsche 993 line-up can be equipped with the spoiler and engine lid from the GT2 in the PC release of Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed, and some of its body panels can be applied to the Porsche 911 Carrera S (993) in Need for Speed (2015), Need for Speed: Payback, Need for Speed: Heat, and Need for Speed: Unbound.
