It made its first appearance in Need for Speed: Most Wanted.
Need for Speed: Carbon also features the Fire Truck (also known as Palmont FD1), where it is classified as a Tier 0 Muscle Car. Players can unlock the Fire Truck for Quick Race upon completion of Reward Cards. The Fire Truck has a better top speed and handling than the Dump Truck.
- A fire truck can be encountered in the PlayStation 2 release of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2. It is seen quenching a forest fire on Coast Parklands.
- The Fire Truck for Need for Speed: Carbon can be downloaded for free on Xbox LIVE.
- The Fire truck can be found in the game files of the PlayStation 2 and Wii releases of Need for Speed: Undercover, and Need for Speed: World, but it is not utilised as a traffic vehicle in any of these titles.
- In the the PlayStation 2 and Wii releases of Need for Speed: Undercover it is possible to find an unused version of the Fire Truck. According to the code, it was supposed to be a version which the player could drive, however, it is most like a leftover from Need for Speed: Carbon, seeing it has the same logo, same performance and is not used by the game.
