The 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse (S650) a performance pony car manufactured by Ford offered as a performance package for the seventh-generation Mustang as a street and track performance trim.
Announced on September 14, 2022 at the 2022 North American International Auto Show at the Huntington Place in Detroit, the seventh-generation Mustang is based on the previous generation S550 platform, but the S650 only shares the roof, floor, and suspension points with various chassis, steering, aerodynamic, and engine improvements.
The Dark Horse package was announced alongside the seventh-generation and is the first new performance package for the Mustang in twenty-one years. It is only available for the coupe Fastback Mustang but has custom "Dark Horse" badging.
Included with the package is a 5.0-litre V8, a TREMEC TR-3160 6-speed manual, a larger front grille, a more aggressive front fascia, a steeper angle spoiler, a rear diffuser, Magneride suspension, a set of Pirelli P Zero Trofeo RS tyres, and a Torsen limited-slip differential.
On top of the performance package, a 10-speed automatic is optional and an additional "Handling package" includes adjustable strut top mounts, a Gurney flap for the rear spoiler, stiffer springs, 5-spoke "Tarnished Dark-Painted" aluminium wheels, front tow hooks, and a set of wider Pirelli P Zero Trofeo RS tyres.
