"Friend In Need" is a Campaign Story mission in Need for Speed: Heat.

It is the tenth mission of the Campaign Story, and the first mission of chapter 3.

Following on from the events of Ana's run-in with Shaw the previous night, Lucas asks the player to talk to some scrap parts dealers on the coast of Palm City and try to find a replacement grille for Papi's Chevrolet Camaro SS '67.

Completing the mission will progress the player to "Proposition", the second mission of chapter 3 in the Campaign Story; and unlock "On The Run", the first mission in Roshni's Off-Road Story.

Prerequisite

Before the player can start the mission, they must be at REP LVL 15 or higher and have completed the previous mission from Ana: "Got Your Back".

The mission recommends the player use a car with a 220 performance rating or higher and a grippy setup for on-road.

Mission preparation
Lucas There's a place on the coast. Scrappers down there do business trading rare parts. Now I just know they've got a grille for a '67 Camaro. Only trouble is I can't get 'em to sell. Think you could go down there and plead my case? Player No problem. Lucas Thanks. Oh, you should know these guys don't like using roads. So, I tuned a car and sent it down there, just in case you need it.

Port Murphy Beach

Location

The start location for the mission is on the beach near Port Murphy.

Synopsis

The player has to meet up scrap parts dealers in Port Murphy during the day.

Lucas informs the player that the parts dealers like off-road racing, and prepares a pre-tuned Subaru Impreza WRX STI '10 for them just in case they need it.

Player Lucas spoke to you about a grille for a classic Camaro? Odell I told him, he's been out the game too long. And I'm selective about who I do business with. Player No way I can change your mind? Odell Sure. Gotta beat me first.

Meeting Roshni

Synopsis

After winning the event, Odell drives off without giving the player the Camaro grille as Roshni approaches the player.

She explains she was the person they player needed to impress, which they have done sufficiently, and the Camaro grille is on its way to Lucas' garage.

She also wants to get in touch with the player at a later time, explaining that she developed the app keeping the underground racing scene in Palm City connected, and knows where to find them when they're needed.

Completing the mission rewards the player with 17,500 and 5,570.
