|
"Got Your Back" is a Campaign Story mission in Need for Speed: Heat.
It is the ninth campaign story mission, with it being the fourth and final mission of chapter 2.
After taking on Jordyn's crew, the Dreamkillers, Ana and the player have a chance to make a move on a place in the League, but there's a problem: Ana doesn't have a car to race with.
Completing "Got Your Back" will progress the player to "Friend In Need", the first mission of chapter 3 in the Campaign Story.
Prerequisite[]
Before the player can start the mission, they must be at REP LVL 15 or higher and have completed the previous mission from Ana: "Race Jordyn's Crew".
The mission recommends the player use a car with a 220 performance rating or higher and a grippy setup for on-road.

"You in the yellow Camaro! Pull over!"[]
Synopsis[]
Nearing the Palm City Raceway, the race is broken up by the appearance of Shaw and he sets his sights immediately on Ana's yellow Camaro.
With the Dreamkillers bailing on the race, it's become obvious Shaw isn't giving up on busting Ana and getting her father's Camaro. She attempts to lose him through the stadium, but he doesn't break pursuit, and Ana's only chance of escaping is through the player's intervention.

Take Down Shaw[]
Save Ana by stopping Shaw[]
The player is tasked with taking down Shaw and his unmarked Chevrolet Camaro Z28 '14, but this has to be done before Shaw is able to takedown Ana and her father's Chevrolet Camaro SS '67.
Both Shaw and Ana have a health meter, and they will be taken down upon their health meters reaching 0%, but the player can also be taken down if their own health meter reaches 0%.
Synopsis[]
The race begins without any problems, but quickly deteriorates with the Palm City Police Department responding to reports of a street race in-progress and Danny Shaw ambushing Ana near the Palm City Raceway.
Ana calls the race off as the situation turns from a crew race to Ana attempting to flee from Shaw's pursuit of her. As Shaw's pursuit of Ana continues through the streets of Palm City, the player has no choice but to disable Shaw and his unmarked Chevrolet Camaro Z28 '14 or else see Ana lose her father's Camaro SS '67 to the PCPD's task force.

The player has to meet up with Ana at the Rivera Garage without being wrecked. The PCPD's task force has been alerted to the player's actions and can be re-engaged in a pursuit.
Synopsis[]
With Shaw's Camaro Z28 '14 wrecked, Ana's able to escape and reach the Rivera Garage, but the player must only try to reach a safe house.
"Dollar Downpour!"[]
Synopsis[]
A special news report the following morning by WFFL86 outlines that a wrecked Camaro Z28 '14 had been found with nearby residents trying to collect hundreds of dollar bills raining down from above, and Frank Mercer attempts to cover up Shaw's actions as an attempt to stain the Task Force's reputation.
Meanwhile, Lucas inspects what remains of his father's Camaro SS '67 in front of Ana and the player, with Ana trying to diffuse an awkward situation by telling Lucas about its performance. The tension between Ana and Lucas quickly builds up, as Lucas describes her actions as incapable driving by someone ruining her life, and Ana describing it as someone making something of their life behind the wheel.
Ana storms off, leaving Lucas and the player at an odds end trying to find replacement parts for the Camaro SS '67.

Reporter
The battle intensified last night between the city's High-Speed Task Force and its growing faction of rogue racers... City residents were treated to a bizarre scene as hundreds of dollar bills filled the night sky, leaving the task force to answer some difficult questions. Mercer
What happened last night was clearly a set-up, an attempt to stain the reputation of my unit. And why? Because we are winning. Ana
I gotta say, it's a little sticky in the low gears, but once it opens up... man, this thing's a beast! Ok, you're pissed. Lucas
Good? This is good? This looks like it was driven by a college dropout who can't race for shit! Ana
That's real nice. I don't have to stand here and listen to some has-been who's too afraid to get behind the wheel. We're drivers! Why don't you call me when you remember that. |
Post Mission[]
Synopsis[]
Following the mission, Lucas will contact the player about finding a grille for the '67 Camaro.
Transcript
Lucas
There's a place on the coast. Scrappers down there do business trading rare parts. Now I just know they've got a grille for a '67 Camaro. Only trouble is I can't get 'em to sell. Think you could go down there and plead my case? |
Rewards[]
Completing the mission rewards the player with 17,500, 5,750, and the "Worlds Collide" award.
