It may be a rural setting, but this first track is anything but laid back. Speed's the name of the game, so keep your eyes peeled for landmarks blurring by that could help with your timing on corners and jumps.
— In-game description

Hometown is a course featured in Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit. It is available from the beginning in both the PC and PlayStation releases.

It also appears in the PC release of Need for Speed: High Stakes being set in the United States and being unlocked by competing in the Memory Lane Tour, Circuit #1.

Featuring an iconic set of twin covered bridges, this route is set in autumn across a North American rural environment with trees and farms filling the background alongside fallen leaves cover parts of the road.

The police vehicles patrolling the course in the Hot Pursuit mode are the Chevrolet Caprice in the PlayStation release or the Ford Crown Victoria in the PC release. In Need for Speed: High Stakes, the Ford Crown Victoria is joined by the Chevrolet Corvette.

The musical pieces "Little Sweaty Sow" by Saki Kaskas and "Hydrus 606" by Rom Di Prisco are played when participating in an event along the course.

Trivia[]

  • In the beginning of the course, there is a billboard of Autumn Valley Speedway, a course featured in The Need for Speed.

    • These signs also mention Crystal Lake, which appears on Alpine Segment 2's map in The Need for Speed.
  • The course is featured in the PC release of Need for Speed: High Stakes without alterations compared to the PC release of Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit, with the exception of the "Autumn Valley Speedway" billboard being replaced by a ""Gene's Memorial Speedway" billboard.
