The 1998 Honda Integra Type R (DC2) is a small 3-door coupé manufactured by Honda.

First going on sale in 1994, the third-generation Integra was initially available with a four headlight design - dubbed "spider eyes" - but was revised within its first year on sale in Japan, and were present for the Type-R in 1995, although the headlight redesign was not applied to the Type R sold outside of Japan or the Acura Integra in North America.

For the '98 model year, dubbed the "98-spec", the Integra received a redesigned rear bumper, 16-inch alloy wheels, larger tyres, 5 stud wheel hubs, larger brake discs, and High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights. The suspension as also modified with shorter springs and lighter dampers for improved cornering following on-track testing of the previous "95-spec" Type R.

Although the engine was not altered, the exhaust manifold was switched from a 4-2-1 configuration to 4-1 to reduce backpressure and lower the peak torque range from 7,500 rpm to 6,200 rpm. The gear ratios were also for a higher final drive pushing 1st and 3rd gear closer for acceleration whilst lengthening 4th and 5th for cruising.

Alongside the brakes, suspension, gearbox, and exhaust changes, an anti-lock brake system as well as airbags were made standard over being previously optional extras. The interior is fitted with Recaro cloth bucket seats available in red, yellow, or dark grey, grey rear cloth seats with red stitching, Type R floor mats, and a "Type R 98-spec" plaque in the centre console.

The DC2 Integra was produced from October 1995 until mid-year 2001, at which point it was replaced by the fourth-generation Integra. In December 1999, a limited Type RX model went on sale as part of the third-generation's final production batch with 5 additional horsepower, aluminium pedals, electric folding wing mirrors, lightweight alloy wheels, and "Phoenix Yellow" body paint colour with matching yellow Recaro front seats.
