NFSUB LPD Tactics Header

Tactics employed by the Lakeshore Police Department (LPD) allow units to engage in pursuits of suspects actively associated with illicit street racing.

Through the use of communication, equipment, and support units, the LPD can effectively coordinate operations across Lakeshore.

Passive[]

Passive tactics are used for all Heat Levels - 1 through 5 - to limit damage to pursuit units and the public of Lakeshore. They can be performed by, or assist, any pursuit units in apprehending a pursued suspect.

Aerial Support[]

NFSUB LPD Unit Helicopter

Aerial support is deployed to maintain visual contact with suspects during a pursuit and to assist dispatch in coordinating pursuit units.


Following[]

NFSUB LPD Tactic Pursue

A following tactic maintains visual contact with a suspect at close range but does not require direct unit intervention in stopping a suspect.


Trailing[]

NFSUB LPD Tactic Trailing

A trailing tactic maintains visual contact with a suspect at a longer range. It does not require direct unit intervention in stopping a suspect but reduces ability for suspect to disable a unit.


Control[]

Control tactics are used for all Heat Levels - 1 through 5 - to persuade the movements and direction of travel for a suspect to limit danger to the public of Lakeshore. They can be performed by, or assist, any pursuit units in apprehending a pursued suspect.

Boxing[]

NFSUB LPD Tactic Boxing

A boxing tactic performed by several units can control a suspect's direction of travel and slowly bring them to a halt.


Distract[]

NFSUB LPD Tactic Distract

A distraction tactic by a leading unit can coerce a suspect's attention through erratic driving and allow other units to perform more direct or close range tactics.


Herding[]

NFSUB LPD Tactic Herding

A herding tactic by a unit or multiple units can either limit or manipulate a suspect's direction of travel.


Leading[]

NFSUB LPD Tactic Leading

A leading tactic by a unit or multiple units can alter the direction of a suspect or block a route to limit their rate of speed.


Rolling Roadblock[]

NFSUB LPD Tactic RollingRoadblock

A rolling roadblock tactic by multiple units can overtake a suspect to blocking their route and slowly reduce a pursuit's rate of speed or bring a suspect to a halt.


Aggressive[]

Aggressive tactics are used from Heat Level 4 as they require authorisation from dispatch for purposeful and direct usage against a pursued suspect.

They are used once a suspect has been deemed to be a threat to the public of Lakeshore and can be performed by, or assist, any pursuit units in apprehending a pursued suspect.

Brake Check[]

NFSUB LPD Tactic BrakeCheck

A brake check tactic by a unit can force a suspect to stop by getting ahead of them and braking inconsistently prior to full braking once close.


Grind[]

NFSUB LPD Tactic Grind

A grind tactic by a unit forces a suspect to the road side by turning into the front or side of their vehicle and pushing them off of the road.


Handbrake[]

NFSUB LPD Tactic Handbrake

A handbrake tactic by a unit can either direct the momentum of their unit into the side of a suspect or place the side of their unit directly in front of a suspect to slow them down.


P.I.T.[]

NFSUB LPD Tactic PIT

A precision immobilisation technique (P.I.T.) tactic by a unit forces a suspect into a spin by ramming the rear-corner of their vehicle.


Ram[]

NFSUB LPD Tactic Ram

A ram tactic by a unit can severely damage a suspect's vehicle by accelerating into the rear of their vehicle at a high rate of speed.


Slam[]

NFSUB LPD Tactic Slam

A slam tactic by a unit can severely damage a suspect's vehicle by accelerating into the side of their vehicle at a high rate of speed.


Smash[]

NFSUB LPD Tactic Smash

A smash tactic by a unit can mildly damage a suspect's vehicle by performing a glancing blow across the side of their vehicle at a matching rate of speed.
