The 2017 Lamborghini Aventador LP 740-4 S Roadster is a mid-engine roadster developed and manufactured by Lamborghini.
It was revealed at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, nearly a year after the coupé's reveal. The carbon-fibre roof can be removed and sorted in the frunk, with the rear window also able to be electronically lowered once the roof has been removed.
As a replacement for the Aventador LP 700-4, it has an altered exterior body with new front and rear bumpers, as well as new interior elements including a new instrument display with a new driving mode: Ego.
Ego allows the driver to create a driving profile based on the three available modes; Strada, Sport, and Corsa, and select parameters for traction, steering, suspension, and torque.
Alongside the exterior and interior changes, it is the first Lamborghini to feature the "Lamborghini Dynamic Steering" system.
It incorporates an all-wheel drive layout with rear-wheel steering, and allows actuators to shorten the wheelbase length whilst counter turning the rear wheels at low speeds for greater rotation, but also stretching the wheelbase length for greater high-speed stability.
Production ran from February 2018 until mid-2021, at which point production of all Aventador models ceased.
