The 2022 Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 is a sports car developed and manufactured by Lamborghini.
Revealed on August 14, 2021 by Lamborghini, it is the first revived name in their line-up, with the retro-styled design of the LPI 800-4 taking cues from early prototypes of the original Countach through to the production LP400 and its later models.
Limited to a production run of 112 examples, a tribute to the prototype Countach's project name: "LP112", all 112 $2,600,000 units were sold out prior to its reveal in August 2021 and delivers were completed in early 2022.
Based on the Sián FKP 37, the naturally-aspirated 6.5-litre V12 engine - which in turn is derived from development of the Aventador - is teamed with a single electric motor to create a mild hybrid system (MHEV). Electrical energy generated through a regenerative braking system is stored in a supercapacitor unit and allows the electric motor to provide three times the power of a comparable system using lithium-ion batteries.
Although capable of providing three times the power, as well as dispense and reaerate faster than typical hybrid systems, the supercapacitor doesn't allow for prolonged electric driving beyond parking and reversing.
The chassis and body is made entirely out of carbon fibre for reduced weight, and was made available in a selection of heritage and contemporary body paint colours.
