Template:InfoboxCar2The Lamborghini Murciélago is the successor to the Lamborghini Diablo supercar. It is the first Lamborghini to be developed under the aegis of Audi.

The car has folding mirrors, an adjustable spoiler and side scoops that opened automatically to attain extra cooling airflow. It went into production in 2002 and was replaced in 2006 by the Lamborghini Murciélago LP 640.

The Murciélago and all of its variants eventually ceased production to be replaced by the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2

The Murciélago is available to both cops and racers in Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2.

It is classed as a Class 2 car in the PC, Xbox and Gamecube releases of the game and is unlocked upon gathering 30,000 NFS points. The police and NFS Edition variant are unlocked upon collecting 60,000 NFS points.

The Murciélago in the PlayStation 2 release is featured as a Class B car. The racer variant is unlocked upon completing Championship event 21 "Lamborghini Murciélago Race".

The pursuit variant for the Challenge Mode is unlocked upon the player completing Hot Pursuit event 27 "Pursuit Murcielago Challenge". The You're the Cop variant is unlocked after the player won an advanced Hot Pursuit Knockout.

The Murciélago has a noticeably higher top speed than most cars within its class but may understeer in corners too. The Lamborghini Diablo VT 6.0 shares the same top speed with the car.

In Event 27, Pursuit Murcielago Challenge (PS2) the player has to use the Pursuit Murciélago. In the event cars of the highest performance class must be stopped in under five minutes. The player can unlock the police version of the car after winning the event.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted

The Murciélago is unlocked when the fourth Blacklist racer JV was beaten by the player. It can be bought for $265,000 in the dealership.

In Most Wanted, the Murciélago is seen with a quick acceleration and high top speed again. Its heavy weight due to its all-wheel drive system can be useful for ramming police cars in pursuits although it may affect its handling capabilites in difficult corners too.

Need for Speed: Carbon

The Murciélago appears as a Tier 3 Exotic in Need for Speed: Carbon and can be purchased by the player at the cost $225,000. Wolf must be defeated in his race in Silverton to unlock the car.

The same performance traits as seen in Most Wanted are used in this title again.

Wolf drives a modified Murciélago upon the player unlocking the Silverton area of Palmont City. Unlike his Aston Martin DB9, his Murciélago cannot be obtained by the player.
