Lexus is a luxury division of the Japanese automotive manufacturer Toyota founded in 1989.

The LS400, the first car released under the Lexus marque, was widely praised for its blend of luxury and reliability, and was touted as a cheaper yet more credible competitor to the German large luxury saloons like the Mercedes Benz S Class.

The company has since established a worldwide reputation of building advanced and reliable luxury cars.
