The 2023 Lotus Evija (Type 130) is an all-electric hypercar developed and manufactured by Lotus.

First unveiled in July 2019, the Evija's development began following Zhejiang Geely Holding Group becoming a majority shareholder in June 2017, and is Lotus' first all-electric car with design, development, manufacturing all being carried out in the United Kingdom.

It was initially developed under the codename "Omega" and was changed to "Type 130" following its official debut, of which also refers to the maximum 130 examples including 8 limited-edition "Fittipaldi" examples celebrating Emerson Fittipaldi's Drivers' Championship win in the 1972 Formula One season driving the Lotus Type 72.

A cylindrical Electrical Drive Unit (EDU) - made up of an electric motor and an integrated silicon carbide inverter - is fitted to each of the magnesium wheels, alongside an epicyclic transmission on each axle, allow for an independent-wheel drive system and a combined EDU output of 2011 bhp (1500 kW), which can be regulated through the power regulating Track mode.

A 2,000 kW lithium-ion battery is fitted behind the cabin and is controlled by a management system developed by Williams Advanced Engineering. The styling compliments a complex aerodynamic system focused on reducing drag through the use of Venturi tunnels to channel airflow through the bodywork, cameras in place of wing mirrors, an integrated diffuser with an F1-style Drag Reduction System (DRS), and an active rear spoiler.

Following years of development, it entered production in May 2022 at Lotus' Hethel manufacturing facility in Norwich, England following a two year delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Jenson Button revealed his bespoke example based on his 2009 Brawn GP Formula One car at The Quail in August 2023.
