The 2018 McLaren 570S Spider is an open-top sportscar developed and manufactured by McLaren.
Revealed at the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed, it is an open-top option for the 570S, and went on sale not long after.
Its aluminium roof, the same fitted to the 650S, is made up of two pieces that electrically fold over each other into a compartment behind the seats. Even though the folding roof was added to the Spider, it only added an additional 46kg of weight as the carbon-fibre tub helps maintain rigidity without a hard-top roof. The folding roof can be operated at up to 30 mph (48 km/h).
The twin-turbo 3.8-litre V8 engine is shared in McLaren's line up, such as the P1 and 650S, but has been tweaked to produce 570 PS (PferdStarke, German for 'horse strength') and is denoted with an "E" meaning "Evolution".
Its carbon-fibre tub, dubbed the "MonoCell II" and derived from the 650S, allows it to be the lightest in its class as it weighs a total of 80kg. Teamed with the powerful engine, it has the highest power-to-weight ratio compared to its main competitors; the Audi R8 V10 Plus and the Porsche 911 Turbo S (991).
Although the 650S, the previous car developed by McLaren, has a sophisticated suspension setup interlinking with the chassis, the 570S has a double wishbone design with active dampeners and anti-roll bars.
Although intended as the entry-level model in McLaren's line up, most of the body panels are made from aluminium rather than carbon-fibre, there are no active aerodynamics, and conventional usage of anti-roll bars with high-pressure hydraulic connection between the dampers.
Production began in early 2018 and ran until mid-2020, at which point production of all 570 models ceased along with the Super Series, and was replaced by the Artura in 2021.

The 570S Spider '18 appears in Need for Speed: Heat following an article published[2][3] on August 19, 2019, revealing it to be part of the game's official car list, and appears in the NFS: Heat Studio app as part of container 10, which was released on October 22, 2019.

The stock 570S Spider can be purchased from the "Buy Stock" section of the "Buy and Sell" menu in the garage for $196,000 and has a Tier S 307 performance rating.

It is unlocked for purchase in the Story mode upon the player beating Qualifier 2 at the end of Week 2 and reaching Sunday, Week 3.

The custom 570S Spider is a reward car offered at an event in the Story mode and has a Tier S+ 331 performance rating.

It is offered as a reward for winning the "It's Tricky" event at the Jefferson Meetup on Friday night during Week 4 of the Story mode.
Upon being rewarded to the player, it is added to both their Story mode and Lakeshore Online mode garages.
