The 2021 Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series (C190) is a high-performance, track-focused variant of the GT developed and manufactured by Mercedes-AMG.

It was first shown by Mercedes-Benz on July 14, 2020 with a premiere trailer posted on their YouTube channel[2], just over six since following the reveal of the GT on April 16, 2014.

Although fitted with the same 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 as the other GT models - the GT C, GT S, and GT R - it is fitted with a flat-place crankshaft for the Black Series, instead of a cross-plane, allowing two cylinders to fire at the same time for better efficiency, and is also fitted with larger turbochargers from the GT 4 Door Coupé, all of which results in an engine producing 720 bhp (537 kW) and 590 ft·lb (800 N·m).

Alongside the improved engine, the aerodynamic changes to the bodywork were designed by the team behind the GT3 race car, and combined with a 35 kg (77 lbs) reducing in weight over the GT R, improves grip at high-speed.

The Black Series includes carbon ceramic brakes, 10 spoke forged wheels, and Recaro carbon-fibre bucket seats. An optional "AMG Track Package" with an integrated titanium roll cage and a fire extinguisher, although the package is not offered in the United States, Canada, or China as models offered in those regions are fitted with AMG Performance seats.
