The 1998 Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR Strassenversion is a road-legal homologation model of the CLK GTR GT1.

A single example was produced for its first showing at the 1997 Frankfurt Motor Show with Mercedes-Benz intending to produce 25 examples to meet the FIA's homologation regulations for the GT1 car.

It features the same carbon fibre chassis as the race car, a detuned but also bored 6.9-litre V12 engine producing over 600 bhp (447 kW), and a sequential 6-speed manual gearbox.

A total of 28 examples of street-legal CLK GTR models were produced by Mercedes-Benz between 1997 to mid-1999: 2 prototypes, 20 coupes, and 6 roadsters. Of which, 2 were SuperSport models fitted with a 7.3-litre V12, and one coupe as well as one roadster were right-hand drive.
