Need for Speed: Most Wanted
It lacks in handling, compared to its rivals, although it compensates with better acceleration and a higher top speed. It can reach a top speed of 242 mph (389 km/h) once it is equipped with Ultimate performance parts.
It is best suited to pursuits and race courses consisting of mostly straight lines. The SL 500 is among the heaviest vehicles in the game, and as such, it is one of the most desirable cars to use in pursuits, as its extra weight makes it easier to blow through Roadblocks and deal damage to cop cars.
It also performs better than the Mercedes-Benz CLK 500 even though both cars have the same engine.
A specially tuned variant of the SL 500 is included with the Black Edition release of Need for Speed: Most Wanted.
- The SL 500 and CLK 500 are the only vehicles in Need for Speed: Most Wanted to have a 7-speed gearbox.
