The 2021 Mercedes-Maybach S 680 (Z223) is a high-performance luxury grand-tourer developed and manufactured by Mercedes-Maybach.
Based on the Mercedes-Benz W223 S-Class, it was first publicly revealed on November 19, 2020 as the pinnacle in luxury for the S-class range and the executive saloon sector. Two models were shown; the S 580 with a 496 bhp (370 kW) 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8, and the S 680 with a 603 bhp (450 kW) 6.0-litre twin-trubocharged V12.
It is fitted with a 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged V12 producing 603 bhp (450 kW) and 664 ft·lb (900 N·m) of torque, of which are sent to each wheel through the "4MATIC" all-wheel drive system with a 33% front and 67% rear torque split, with extra assistance from a rear-wheel steering system for an improved turning radius.
At 5.47 metres in length, it is 18 cm longer than the regular S-Class, although the extra cabin space in the rear allows for two executive seats with full reclining and massaging functions, as well as electrically-assisted wider rear doors operable by either the rear passengers or the driver.
To differentiate the Maybach influence from the regular S-Class, it is fitted with a chromed fin bonnet, a vertically slanted grille, a new c-pillar, and Maybach badging. It is also offered with an optional two-tone paint finish.
