The 1949 Mercury Coupe (Gen. 3) is a two-door coupe, and part of the Mercury Eight series. In 1950, a high-end two-door "Monterey" coupe would also be made available.
It was very popular with custom builders, specially within the "lead sled" style, also being prominently featured as an icon of its time in American films such as Rebel Without a Cause and American Graffiti.
