Mini is a brand owned and utilised by BMW since 2000 for the production of small cars.
The name was originally used for the Mini first produced by the Austin Motor Company in 1959, and been used as a brand of small cars since 1969 across British Leyland.
BMW acquired the Rover Group in 1994, including the Mini name, and was established with a new line of small cars in 2000.
