Downloadable Content for the PC release of Need for Speed: High Stakes features add-on cars released from July, 1999[1] to April, 2000,[2] and made available through needforspeed.com,[3] as well as through the EA Racing website.[4] Players would be redirected to the download website upon selecting "Download Car" from the in-game car selection menu.

Each vehicle has an individual executable installer, as well as a separate installer for their respective showcases. Each executable has different localised languages; American English, British English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, and Swedish.

Trivia[]

  • Each vehicle includes pictures and text description on the EA Racing website relating to car showcases, but only one car was offered with a showcase installer:
    • The Ferrari 360 Modena has pictures and transcribed narration from its downloadable showcase.
    • The Aston Martin DB7 has pictures from its showcase in Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit, as well as transcribed narration from its showcase in the PlayStation release of Need for Speed: High Stakes.
    • The BMW M Coupé and BMW M Roadster's pictures and descriptions, but are the only examples not released as a showcase slideshow or narration for any game in the Need for Speed series.
    • The Jaguar XJR-15 and Lister Storm include pictures and transcribed narration from their respective showcases in Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit.
