Vanity Items in Need for Speed: Payback are visual customisation items that can be equipped to any owned cars, but can only be acquired from shipments.

There are five available vanity item options that can be applied to cars; nitrous colour, tyre smoke, underglow, air suspension, and horn.

Owned vanity items can be found in any owned garage under the "Vanity Items" section of a car's customisation options. The player's inventory of items can be applied to any owned car or sold for additional Bank (NFSPB BankYellow Icon).

Vanity items that have already been applied to a car can be removed and applied to a different car.

Item Categories[]

Nitrous Colour[]

NFSPB VanityItem NitrousColour

Nitrous colour items offer a selection of colour options and will change the colour of the nitrous flames that fire out a car's exhaust tips.

Tyre Smoke[]

NFSPB VanityItem TyreSmoke

Tyre smoke items offer a selection of colour options and will change the colour of any tyre smoke emitted from a car whilst drifting or performing a burnout on tarmac.

Dust kicked up when off-road will not change colour based on any applied tyre smoke items.

Underglow[]

NFSPB VanityItem NeonUnderglow

Underglow items include a selection of coloured neon strips that are applied to the front, rear, and sides of a car.

Equipped underglow items are only visible at night and are not turned on during the day.

Air Suspension[]

NFSPB VanityItem AirSuspension

An air suspension item can be applied to a car and will equip air bag kits to a car's suspension.

Stopping a car and turning off its engine with an air suspension kit equipped will lower the car's ride height.

Horn[]

NFSPB VanityItem Horn

A horn item can be equipped and will change the audible horn sound that is emitted from a car.

The selection of horn items available includes different tones and melodies that can be activated by pressing or holding down a car's horn.
