Evolution is a game mode in Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed where players purchase Porsche cars to compete in a series of tournaments and club meeting events that differ in difficulty level, entry fee, number of tracks, and course types.

Each is divided into three eras; Classic Era, Golden Era, and Modern Era.

Following a chronological progression, players start from the introduction of the first 356 1100 in 1950 during the Classic Era through to the debut of the 911 Turbo (996) in 2000 during the Modern Era.
