Character

The Character in Need for Speed: Unbound is the player's avatar to represent themselves in-game as their driver will appear in the single-player Story mode and the Lakeshore Online multiplayer mode.

The player's character is created prior to the starting either mode but can be customised at any time in the garage.

Model[]

The player can choose from a selection of available models as a template for their driver, and can then customise their driver from a selection of attributes.

Head[]

A selection of pre-set head options for the player's driver.

Eye Colour[]

A selection of pre-set and custom eye colour options for the player's driver.

Skin Colour[]

A selection of pre-set skin colour options for the player's driver.

Voice[]

A selection of pre-set voice options and a pitch slider for the player's driver.

Face[]

A selection of pre-set facial options for the player's driver including tattoos, makeup, dirt, and bandages.

Facial Hair[]

A selection of pre-set facial hair options and colours for the player's driver.

Hair[]

A selection of pre-set hair options for the player's driver. Players can also choose from a variety of hair colours and dyed tip colours.

Clothing[]

Clothing items can be equipped to the player's driver to represent themselves in-game and create a unique look.

Items include limited edition gear from the latest fashion lines across hundreds of items available, and post-launch content drops. Players can choose to select from individual elements of their driver's look or equip items on a per-brand basis for pre-set outfits.

The selection of items and brands represented in-game were brought together by fashion director and lead stylist, Toni Blaze; the editor-in-chief of Wonderland, a British lifestyle and fashion magazine; and a diversity committee member for the British Fashion Council.

The main aim was for the visual identity to feel authentic [...] My main role was to research and develop the visual identity of the main characters, but also the main style tribes within the game. I wanted to add brands and styles that I felt represented the game’s objective. [...] I hope players adopt the freedom to express themselves through clothing and apply some of their ‘daring’ choices within the game in real life!
