Events in Need for Speed: Unbound are accessed through the various Meetup locations across Lakeshore.
In the single-player Story mode, the selection of events available at Meetup locations differs in depending on the player's current week and day.
In the multiplayer Lakeshore Online mode, the selection of available events at Meetup locations depends on the playlists offered at each location.
Conditions[]
Events offered at Meetups may have unique conditions applied to them, which can allow for easier or more restrictive entry.
Performance Tier[]
Events with a performance tier requirement will limit the selection of cars to within certain performance tiers or a range of various tiers.
Money[]
In Story mode, the buy-in for events may be rescinded, to allow easier entry; or prohibitively increased, to create a high stakes event.
Heat Gain[]
In Story mode, competing in an event will add an associated gain in heat towards the player and put them at a greater risk of gaining the attention of the Lakeshore Police Department.
Garnered heat during a day session is retained as the player enters a night session for the same day. As the player progresses to the next day, the heat associated with the player is reset.
Heat is tied to the player and is retained regardless of their choice in vehicle.

Events appear in both the single-player Story mode and the multiplayer Lakeshore Online mode, although not all event types appear in both modes.

Corner King[]
A Corner King event is a circuit or sprint event with a checkpointed route featuring multiple tight or successive corners.
Drift Event[]
A Drift Event is a checkpointed circuit event in which participants earn points by drifting their vehicle.
Endurance[]
An Endurance event is a circuit or sprint event with an excessively long distance checkpointed route.
Speed Race[]
A Speed Race event is a circuit or sprint event with a checkpointed route outlined for a high top speed.
Street Race[]
A Street Race event is a circuit or sprint event with a checkpointed route along urban roads.
Story[]
Head to Head[]
A Head to head event is a circuit or sprint event involving only two participants.
Takeover[]
A Takeover event is a checkpointed circuit event in which participants earn points by performing stunts using their vehicle.
The Grand[]
The Grand is an invitational event and the finale for the single-player story.
Qualifiers[]
A Qualifier is an eliminator event takes place at the end of Week 1, Week 2, and Week 3 of the single-player Story.
Winning a qualifier progresses the player to the next week of the Story and towards The Grand at the end of Week 4.
Finale[]
The Grand takes place at the end of Week 4.
Eight participants compete against each other along four checkpointed routes with the final few finishing each event being eliminated from the next event. The winner is the first racer to cross the finish line in the final event.

Drag Race[]
A Drag Race event is a point-to-point sprint with manual shifting and land switching.
Drift Pro[]
A Drift Pro event is a checkpointed circuit or sprint event in which participants earn points by drifting their vehicle.
Gauntlet[]
A Gauntlet event is a checkpointed circuit or sprint event with racers competing against each other whilst being pursued by the LPD.
Linkup[]
A Linkup event is a multiplayer co-operative free roam event with players completing increasingly difficult challenges.
Rumble[]
A Rumble event is a circuit event with a checkpointed route featuring multiple tight corners, jumps, and varying terrain.
Mission Types[]
Missions appear in the single-player Story mode.
High Heat Delivery[]
A High Heat Delivery mission tasks the player with delivering a vehicle to a highlighted spot whilst avoiding the Lakeshore Police Department.
Racer SOS[]
A Racer SOS mission tasks the player with picking up a fellow racer within a certain amount of time and successfully dropping them off at their safehouse whilst avoiding the Lakeshore Police Department.
Rydells Rides[]
A Rydells Rides mission tasks the player with delivering a client's vehicle from a pickup location to a drop off location within a set amount of time by following a set route with checkpoints.
