PvP (Player vs. Player) in Need for Speed: Unbound is a segment of the multiplayer Lakeshore Online mode and is the matchmaking alternative to the free roam segment.
Introduced with the release of Volume 6, it allows up to 8 total players to participate in matchmade playlists across multiple pools containing various playlist options.
All players in a PvP session can select a pool to join and will be entered into a corresponding playlist against other players for bank towards their vehicle or experience points towards their rank.
Pools[]
Pools in PvP are a selection of featured or performance tier related brackets containing a selection of associated playlists.
Selecting a pool will matchmake a player into a playlist against other players having selected the same pool.
Rotation[]
The selection of available pools includes three daily rotating featured playlists and a rotating tier-specific playlist for the duration of Volume 7.
Four pools offered - themed, drift, drag, and tier-specific - refresh every day at 00:00 (UTC).
Prior to the release of Volume 7, a Quick Play pool would matchmake players into any of the available pools, two featured pools would be available all week refreshing every Monday at 00:00 (UTC), and a tier-specific pool would rotate daily at 00:00 (UTC).[1]
