Handling in Need for Speed: Unbound allows players to edit the handling profile of their owned cars through the performance menu in the garage.
The handling slider represents the handling setup of a car, highlighting if it is more aligned for grip or drift; and a traction slider, highlighting if it is more aligned for road or off-road driving.
Adjustments[]
Handling[]
Players can edit the handling of their car to adjust its performance. The amount of editing the player can perform on a car depends on the quality and number of performance parts equipped.
Steering Sensitivity[]
Steering sensitivity can be adjusted for a reduced or more active response for nailing the apex of a corner.
Downforce[]
Downforce adjustments from high to low alter the air flow over a car for a higher top speed or improved handling.
Traction Control[]
Traction control can be turned on or off.
Drift Entry[]
Drift entry allows players to change how they wish to initiate a drift using their car, and the three available options can be applied on a per-car basis:
- Brake Tap: Initiates a drift by tapping the brakes (on by default).
- Gas Tap: Initiates a drift by quickly releasing and reapplying the throttle.
- Off: Removes either method of tap to initiate a drift and requires the use of the handbrake.
