Magazine Covers in Need for Speed: Underground are unique rewards unlocked by achieving certain goals in Underground Mode and online multiplayer.

They can be unlocked by winning events and reaching higher ranks in event types, through equipping visual or performance upgrades to the player's car, or by beating the best times for routes.

The background and models shown on magazine covers alongside the player's car may alternate between designs, layouts, and angles captured of the car.
