The Soundtrack for Need for Speed: Underground features a selection of licensed songs[1] as well as an original score composed by Jim Latham.

Various licensed songs are included in the GameCube, PC, PlayStation 2, and Xbox releases, with a selection of songs set to play during race events and others in menus.
All licensed songs can be previewed in the EA Games Trax section within the Options sub-menu of the main menu. Within the EA Games Trax section, players can change if songs play in race events, menus, both, or never.
