Sponsors

Sponsors are unique contracts offered by aftermarket manufacturers in the career mode of Need for Speed: Underground 2. Signing with a sponsor will grant the player special payouts in exchange for fulfilling specific race events and complying with a media related clause.

Numerous sponsors will contact Rachel Teller at the beginning of each stage, and she will allow the player to choose from any available sponsors upon them completing their first race event of that stage. The amount of sponsors offered to the player will differ depending on the average reputation they have earned from races in the previous stage.

Sponsorships require the player to take part in URL races, races of the sponsor's choosing that are highlighted by X icons on the minimap, a specific number of races of the player's choice, and a number of DVD cover shoots.

Each career mode stage has a different selection of available sponsorships, starting with Stage 2, up to four contracts can be completed across the career mode.

Stages

Stage 2

To complete a contract, the player must finish 3 URL races, 3 sponsor races and 9 additional races of their choice. It is also required to build a vehicle that is featured on 1 DVD cover. In addition, the player may select a free car from any vehicle lot.
