The Showcase Update, also known as Update 3, is a content update and patch released on February 3, 2016 for console releases of Need for Speed (2015), and later for the PC release on March 30, 2016.

The update was first teased in the fourth Under the Hood segment published on the official Need for Speed website on January 28, 2016.[1]

The segment highlights feedback Ghost Games received with regards to a photo mode, sharing player created wraps, visual customisation elements for some vehicles, differentiating multiplayer options, licence plate customisation, and repairing a car at gas stations.

    • Wrap Artist – Share a Wrap with the Need for Speed Community
    • Climbing the Ranks – Reach Monthly Rank 10 by completing Daily Challenges



  • Redesigned splash screen
  • Snapshop Pro
    • A photo mode that can be accessed via the phone during free roam.
    • Alter depth of field, brightness, contrast, vignette, saturation, and more.
    • Apply various pre-set filters.
  • A new Snapshot overview screen in the Need for Speed Network menu so you can find out more about published snapshots.
    • Improvements to Kickbacks and likes on snapshots
  • A new "Competitive" Multiplayer option that can selected instead of AllDrive.
    • Various multiplayer improvements and bug fixes.
  • Driving through a Gas Station will repair a player's car.
  • A variety of tweaks and improvements including AI, player feedback, Gameplay, and World.
  • Fixed a couple of bugs for Eddie's challenge.
  • Multiple stability fixes.
