The GT-R Proto is the second and final GT-R concept, which was shown at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show. It shares almost the same design as the final product, with some differences on the front. The 2001 concept car looks more angular than the production version and second concept car.

Need for Speed: ProStreet

The Nissan GT-R Proto appears in Need for Speed: ProStreet as Tier 3 vehicle with a price tag of $90,000. It cannot be customised by the player and is unlocked upon dominating the Super Promotion: Showdown raceday in Autopolis.

The performance of the car is inferior to that seen on the production model but is competitive enough for racing against other 400-500 bhp cars. The GT-R Proto is powered by a quick acceleration and has a stable handling. It is therefore useful for Grip.

Trivia

  • The GT-R Prototype cannot be modified in any capacity or re-painted even though it can be seen altered in some promotional material for Need for Speed: ProStreet.
