NOS Purge

NOS Purge is a car specialty that sprays NOS out of the hood and/or rims when activated. NOS Purge, however, can be bought in Car Specialty shops separately. Players are able to color their NOS Purge when unlocked, and can also choose where the NOS comes out.

Need for Speed Series

Nitrous oxide can be bought for a player's car from the respective stores. It will give a acceleration boost to the player's car when fired for an amount of time.

Players can also upgrade their levels of nitrous after buying additional kits from a store.

Every car is equipped with Nitrous oxide in Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (2010).
