There are two models of the Federal Undercover Cruiser; the undercover model fitted with a full police package as well as a black body colour and the standard model.
The Federal Undercover Cruiser is an advanced patrol unit used by federal agents, and one of the most powerful police vehicles used by law enforcement as it is tuned for high speed engagement. The unit is heavy as well as extremely resilient resulting in a reliable means of high speed pursuit against highly durable and high top speed vehicles.
Federal agents driving Federal Undercover Cruiser units are trained in the following advanced driving techniques: Box, Herd, PIT, Ram, Roadblock, Rolling Roadblocks, and Spike Strips. An excessively damaged or disabled unit adds a $25,000 Bounty to the rap sheet of the suspect.
The unit will appear in pursuits at Heat Level 6 in Need for Speed: Most Wanted, and up to Heat Level 7 in Need for Speed: Carbon. In the PlayStation 2 and Nintendo Wii releases of Need for Speed: Undercover, it will appear as a single unit at Heat Level 5.

- In the PlayStation 2 and Nintendo Wii releases of Need for Speed: Undercover, the Federal Undercover Dodge Viper Cruiser appears in an unfinished state with missing headlights, a missing police officer inside the cockpit, missing various windows, and a custom body kit overlaid on top of the stock body.
