The Police Helicopter appears in Need for Speed: Rivals and can be called in by Redview County Police Department units anytime during pursuits.
The helicopter will help maintain visual contact with racers attempting to escape. The helicopter can be upgraded with a spotlight to illuminate and blind racers, as well as the ability to drop spike strips to prevent racers from escaping. Like all other Pursuit Tech in the game, the helicopter is upgraded via spending SpeedPoints.
Need for Speed: Payback[]
The Police Helicopter appears in Need for Speed: Payback and is only featured during the mission "Skyhammer."
Need for Speed: Heat[]
The Police Helicopter appears in Need for Speed: Heat at high heat levels. It is capable of keeping contact with the player during a pursuit at long range.
Need for Speed: Unbound[]
The Police Helicopter appears in Need for Speed: Unbound and is used for aerial support to keep the player within sight during pursuits. It will back out of a pursuit once its fuel tank has reached a low amount of fuel left. At times, 2 helicopters may be deployed in the area to help ground units search for suspects.
