The 1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Special Edition (Gen. 2) is a coupé manufactured by Pontiac built between 1977 to 1978 for the second generation Firebird.
Also known as "Blackbird", it was available with custom gold interior and exterior trims for the coupe, and T-top models. It was priced higher than the simultaneously built Formula model.
It gained popularity for its appearance in the 1977 action-comedy film Smokey and the Bandit.[1]
