The 1966 Pontiac GTO (Gen. 1) is a muscle car manufactured by Pontiac.
For the 1966 model year, the GTO was no longer a trim level for the Pontiac Tempest, as it received differentiating design alterations from the previous model, resembling a more "Coke-bottle" styling.
The Tri-Power variant was discontinued during production and customers were instead offered a new Ram-Air package option.
