The 2005 Pontiac GTO (Gen. 5) is a two-door coupe manufactured by Pontiac.
It visually differs from the 2004 Pontiac GTO with the addition of two hood scoops and split rear exhausts. The 5.7L LS1 V8 found in the earlier model was replaced with a 6.0L LS2 V8.
Games[]
Need for Speed: Most Wanted[]
The GTO appears in Need for Speed: Most Wanted.
It has a high kerb weight, making its handling sluggish but suitable for pursuits. It has excellent acceleration and a decent top speed, although its equivalent - the Vauxhall Monaro VXR - has similar performance statistics as well as better handling.
Stock
The stock GTO is unlocked through the Career mode upon the player defeating Blacklist Rival #10: Karl "Baron" Smit.
Upon being unlocked, it can be purchased in the Career mode from a Car Lot for 35,000 cash, and it can be selected for customisation in My Cars.
Challenge Series
A custom GTO is offered in the Challenge Series and can be driven in two events:
- #5 - Tollbooth Time Trial: Complete "Hwy 4 & Forest Green" in less than three minutes and thirty seconds.
- #6 - Pursuit Length: Evade a Heat Level 1 pursuit in less than five minutes.
It can not be unlocked for use in any events or game modes outside of its two Challenge Series events.
