The 1950 Porsche 356 1100 is Porsche's first mass production car with a 1.1 litre engine, succeeding the 356/1 prototype from 1948, as well as the small series 356/2 "Gmünd" produced in Austria from 1948 to 1950.
Created by Ferdinand Porsche, it is a rear engined, rear-wheel drive car based on its "cousin", the Volkswagen Beetle. The original 356 lineup included engine options such as 1300, 1300 S, 1500 and 1500 S, with production ceasing in 1955 with the 356 A models taking over the 356 model range.
Produced from 1950 to 1954 in Coupé and Cabriolet bodies, the 356 1100 has bumpers flush with the body, windscreen divided in two parts by bar, rectangular tail lights, and round indicators.[1]
