The 1996 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 (993) is the all-wheel drive version of Porsche's 911 Carrera (993), and a revision model of the 911 Carrera 4 introduced in 1995.
For model year 1996 the 911 Carrera (993) lineup was revised receiving an updated engine developing 285 hp, resulting in a more powerful Carrera 4.
Whilst power output is identical to its Rear-Wheel Drive counterpart, visually there are minor cues distinguishing it from the base Carrera, such as a Carrera 4 badge, swept-back headlamps, and larger front and rear wings.

The 1996 911 Carrera 4 (993) appears in the PC release of Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed as a class 2 car in the Modern Era category.
Only available as a Coupé, it can be purchased as new for 142,000 cash upon completing the Class 3 Trophy. It has slightly higher statistics than the 1995 model.
