The 2004 Porsche 911 Carrera S (997) is a high-performance rear-wheel drive variant of the 2003 911 Carrera (997). Porsche continued the tradition of adding the "S" to their sportier models.

It is the first Carrera S to be powered by the 3.8 litre flat-six producing 350 bhp at 6,600 rpm and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft.) of torque at 4,600 rpm. Porsche also added PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management) with two driving modes for different driving conditions.


Need for Speed: Most Wanted

The 911 Carrera S (997) appears in Need for Speed: Most Wanted.

It has great handling and has a high top speed.


The stock 911 Carrera S (997) is unlocked through the Career mode upon the player defeating Blacklist Rival #7: Kira "Kaze" Nakazato.

Upon being unlocked, it can be purchased in the Career mode from a Car Lot for 75,000 cash, and it can be selected for customisation in My Cars.

The tuned 911 Carrera S (997) is included with the Black Edition release and is available from the beginning as a Bonus car for use in Quick Race or multiplayer.

It can not be purchased in the Career mode or be selected for customisation in My Cars.

Challenge Series

A custom 911 Carrera S (997) is offered in the Challenge Series and can be driven in two events:

It can not be unlocked for use in any events or game modes outside of its two Challenge Series events.

Need for Speed: Carbon

Development - Main article: Need for Speed: Carbon/Development.

The 911 Carrera S (997) can be found in the game files of Need for Speed: Carbon. The model is fully customisable with the exception of some Autosculpt parts or refined performance.

It has five body kits although they all have missing elements and textures. Since only the mesh of the car is in the game files, it has no performance parts.
