Template:InfoboxCar2The Porsche 911 Turbo (997) is the successor to the 996 Turbo and an high-performance all-wheel drive variation of the Porsche 997. It is the world's first car to utilize VGT, which is an abbreviation for variable-geometry turbochargers. In 2009, the 911 Turbo received a facelift.

Need for Speed: Carbon

Need for Speed: Carbon was the first Need for Speed installment to feature the 997 Turbo. It is classed as a Tier 3 Exotic with a price tag $75,000, making it the cheapest car within its class.

It is only featured in the EA Downloader version of the game. Xbox 360 players may obtain the car by purchasing the Exotic Car Kit Bundle.

The Porsche 911 Turbo is comparable with the Lamborghini Gallardo. Both have the same standard top speed, although the 911 Turbo is a quicker car in terms of acceleration and handling, which is its best trait.

Need for Speed: ProStreet

The Porsche 911 Turbo in Need for Speed: ProStreet appears as a Tier 3 car for $122,000. It is unlocked upon the player winning the Showdown: Autopolis race day.

In comparison with the 997 GT2, which is also ranked as a Tier 3 car, the 911 Turbo has a lower top speed, but also a better stability and more responsive handling. It may has a faster 0-100 kmh time, but also a worse 0-160 kmh time than the GT2.

Due to being an AWD car, players may find the 911 Turbo a good car in Grip and Speed, where its handling can be useful whilst driving at a high speed.

Need for Speed: Undercover

In Need for Speed: Undercover, the Porsche 911 Turbo appears as a Tier 2. Players can unlock it upon completing the Job event "Rematch" and purchase it for $218,000.

It is capable of reaching 363 kph (225 mph). The 997 Turbo has the second highest top speed, as the Porsche 911 GT3 RS is faster. However, it also has a weak acceleration.

Need for Speed: World

Template:NFSWlink The 911 Turbo has never been available in stock form but in numerous trims only. It was introduced on September 29th, 2010 as a one-day rental called "Glacier", which costs SpeedBoost300. This version is rated as a Class C car and has an overall rating of 484.

The 911 Turbo is the slowest Porsche 911 in the game. It is not as agile as its sister models nor accelerates as quick as them. Its nitrous boost doesn't stand out as well. The 911 Turbo does have a decent acceleration when compared to Class C and Class B cars. With Gromlen race tuned parts, it can reach 205 mph (331 kmh) as top speed.

The major disadvantage of the car is its steering, because of suffering from understeer. Players may find the Nissan GT-R to be more useful in races.

On December 16th, 2010, the "Snowflake" 911 Turbo became temporary available for SpeedBoost. In celebration of the winter holidays of 2010, the car was painted with a snowflake vinyl theme. Another speciality of the car is its ability to emit snowflakes whilst standing still. To improve its performance, the Snowflake was upgraded with Gromlen race tuned parts. It has an overall rating of 549 and competes in Class B. The Snowflake is currently not purchaseable in any way.

May 17th, 2011 saw the addition of another variation of the car. The "Rose" 911 Turbo is inspired by Rose Largo's 911 GT2 from Need for Speed: Undercover. It is equipped with the same body kit as seen on the original car and painted with the same paint job. A speciality of the car is that it uses a female driver model. The Rose version has the same rating as the Snowflake and can be currently purchased for a discounted price tag of SpeedBoost1,920.
