The 1975 Porsche 911 Turbo 3.0 (930) is a rear-wheel drive sports car manufactured by Porsche.

Its development began in 1972, initially meant as a limited homologation model - the turbo technology designed for the 1973 917/30 was adapted to the 3.0 litres flat-six engine from the 1974 Carrera RS 3.0, resulting in the 260 hp car named internally as the 930. The production version would be unveiled at the 1974 Paris Auto Show, and later made available for model year 1975.

The 930 was given suspension revision, larger brakes, larger wheels, flared rear wings giving an extra 12 cm in width to the 911, as well as black stone guard film applied in front of the rear wheel arches. The rear lid features a distinctive rear wing with a wide black hard-rubber border made of glass fibre-reinforced plastic.

It would be produced until model year 1977, with Porsche introducing the 911 Turbo 3.3 revision in the following year featuring increased engine size.[1][2]

Games[]

Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed[]

The 911 Turbo 3.0 (930) appears in Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed as a Class 1 Golden Era car.

In the PC release, it can be purchased as new for 65,800 cash in the car dealership upon completing the Mixed Class Challenge in the Golden Era stage of the Evolution Mode.

Similar to the Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7, the 911 Turbo is a difficult car to drive despite having a whale tail spoiler. It is a quick car which requires precise and careful steering in corners.

In the PlayStation release, it can be purchased as new for 65,800 CR upon reaching the the Golden Era.

Police[]

In the PC release, an AI-controlled 911 Turbo 3.0 police car is featured in both French and German liveries.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2012)[]

The 911 Turbo 3.0 appears in Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2012) following the first gameplay feature series video released on September 18, 2012.

It appears in the game as a Sports class vehicle, which is unlocked upon finding one of its Jack Spots in singleplayer. In multiplayer, it is unlocked upon reaching SpeedLevel 42.

The 911 Turbo 3.0 has the same toughness and offroad capability ratings as the Porsche 911 Carrera S (991) but greatly lacks in acceleration, making it significantly slower than the Lamborghini Countach 5000QV and Lancia Delta Integrale Evoluzione in terms of straight-line performance. This is compensated by a responsive steering.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2012) (Mobile)[]

The 911 Turbo 3.0 appears in the mobile release of Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2012) in the Sports category. Available for $55,000, the 911 Turbo 3.0 has decent acceleration and handling, but at the sacrifice of speed.
