The Porsche 918 RSR is a racing variation of the 918 Spyder concept car.
It was first shown to the world at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan during January 2011. This 918 RSR race car features a Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) that provides power for the two electrical motors.
The colour scheme of the 918 RSR is inspired by the Porsche 917.

Need for Speed: The Run
The Need for Speed: The Run Car Reveal Wrap-Up #12 revealed on October 9, 2011 that the 918 RSR will be featured in the title.
The original concept 918 RSR is featured as a tier 5 vehicle. It is also featured as two different tier 6 vehicles:
- The standard 918 RSR is unlocked when players complete Stage 8 of The Run.
- The Need for Speed Edition 918 RSR is unlocked upon the player beating 10 Multiplayer Objectives in the Supercar Playlist.
- The Signature "Binary" Edition 918 RSR is unlocked upon the player beating 50 Autolog Recommendations.
All variants of the 918 RSR are notable for their acceleration and handling, which are rated "Easy". They have decent top speeds as well.
