Template:InfoboxCar2 The Porsche 959 is a mid-engined supercar developed by Porsche from 1986 to 1989. Only 337 units were produced during its production. It was briefly the world's fastest production car although this title was swiftly claimed by the Ferrari F40.

It used many high-tech components such as an electronic AWD system as it was being designed to compete in Group B rallying. The road-racing variant of the 959 - the 961 - competed and was successful in the Paris-Dakar Rally ans well as in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed

The 959 is featured in Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed as an add-on vehicle. It is as quick and powerful as the Porsche 911 Turbo (993) and more stable than rear-engined cars without all-wheel drive.

Need for Speed: World

Template:NFSWlink The Porsche 959 is one of the best Tier 3 in-game-cash cars featured in Need for Speed: World due to its high top speed of 190 mph (306 kmh) and responsive handling at the expense of strong oversteer in turns.

The 959 is better in all performance aspects compared to the BMW M3 GTR although it has an inferior nitrous boost and performs worse in pursuits due to its low mass. There are no aftermarket body kits for the car.
